In 2020 the US Government signed the CARES Act, which made an enormous amount of money available to those who had lost their job as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sadly a lot of this money was claimed by criminals using stolen identities. In some cases this led to the victims getting unjustly fined for the malicious practices of the criminals. The worst part is that most victims were not even aware that their identity had been stolen in the first place.

Over the past few months we have been working hard at Unveiler to build a fully-fledged app on top of our verified location technology. Our primary commitment will be to develop state of the art verified location technology and a great developer experience. Now we took some time to build and productize an app for ourselves. Recently we have released our first publicly available app, named ClaimR Auth. With ClaimR Auth, we offer a drop-in replacement to widely used multi-factor authenticator apps, such as Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator.

Our app makes use of the Unveiler API to add an additional layer of security: You can limit the area in which the multi-factor authentication can be performed. This additional security measure gives you a unique method of protecting your accounts today.

Having a device in our pocket which can pinpoint our location has become the norm in the last decade. Many apps capitalize on this feature, for example to tailor the experience to the user's location, offer them navigation instructions, or record where a certain photo is taken.

In some of these cases the user can gain by manipulating their location. This makes app developers unable to use their user's location for critical applications. While less vital applications resort to accepting that some of their users are able to cheat.
